About us
A pest control service built around Auckland properties
We are a mobile, independent pest control business covering the wider Auckland region. Our whole approach comes down to one thing: find out why the pest is there before deciding what to do about it.
The short version
Pest Control Auckland is an independent, mobile pest management service covering the Auckland region. We treat rodents, cockroaches, ants, fleas and wasps in homes, rentals and commercial premises. Every job starts with an inspection, every quote is firm before work begins, there is no call-out fee, and every visit produces a written record of what was applied and what needs sealing.
Why we inspect first
A large share of the jobs we attend have been treated before. Usually more than once. The products were not necessarily wrong and the technician was not necessarily careless — but nobody went into the roof space, nobody got under the house, and nobody wrote down the gaps that were letting rodents back in.
Treatment removes the pests that are present. It does nothing about the conditions that invited them. If a subfloor vent has rusted through, if a branch is touching the roofline, if a gully trap has lost its seal — the treatment works, then the problem returns, and everyone concludes pest control does not last.
So we inspect the roof space, the subfloor and the perimeter before treating anything, and you get a written, prioritised list of what to fix. Frequently that list is the real answer and the treatment is the smaller half of the job. We would rather tell you that than book you in again in six months.
Identification changes everything
The second thing that decides whether a job succeeds is knowing what you are actually dealing with.
- A Gisborne cockroach that wandered in from the woodpile and a German cockroach breeding behind a dishwasher look like the same problem to most people. One needs perimeter work; the other needs a gel-baiting programme with a follow-up.
- Argentine ants get measurably worse if you spray the trail — the colony splits and relocates. The correct treatment is a non-repellent bait that does the opposite of what instinct suggests.
- A honey bee swarm is not a pest problem at all, and we will tell you so rather than treat it.
This is the part that is hard to see as a customer, and it is the part that most determines whether you are calling someone again next season.
What you can expect from us
- An inspection before any treatment, including roof space and subfloor where accessible
- A firm price before work starts, and no call-out fee for the estimate
- Targeted application — gel, bait stations and crack-and-crevice work rather than blanket spraying
- A written record of every product used, where it was placed, and re-entry timings
- A prioritised proofing list covering what to seal, trim or repair
- An honest answer about what the treatment will and will not achieve
What we won't do
- Quote a price without understanding the job, then revise it upward on the day
- Sell a maintenance programme to a property that does not need one
- Treat honey bees, or native species that are not causing a problem
- Promise permanent eradication on a property backing onto bush or a tidal margin — that is not how re-invasion pressure works, and anyone promising it is guessing
How we work with the rules
Pest control in New Zealand is regulated. The products we apply are approved by the Environmental Protection Authority and carry controls set under the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996 covering how they are selected, applied, stored and recorded. We work to those controls and to label directions, without exception. Where we work on commercial sites we also work within the health and safety duties set out by WorkSafe New Zealand.
Where we work
We cover the wider Auckland region — the central isthmus, the North Shore from Devonport to Albany, East Auckland through Howick and Flat Bush, South Auckland down to Papakura, and West Auckland out to Westgate. Because we are mobile, there is no walk-in office — our technicians travel to you.
