Questions

Everything people ask us

If yours is not here, call us. We would much rather answer it before you book than after.

How much does pest control cost in Auckland?
Most residential jobs run $150 to $350 including GST for a single pest, and $320 to $580 for a full home treatment covering several pests in one visit. Wasp nests start around $140. Commercial programmes are quoted annually from about $480. Full detail is on our cost guide.
Do you charge a call-out fee?
No. Estimates are free and we quote before starting. Many Auckland operators charge $60 to $120 simply to attend, so it is worth asking directly when comparing quotes.
How soon can you come out?
Usually two to four working days across the region. We hold daily capacity for urgent jobs — wasp nests in high-traffic areas, rodents in food businesses, or anything involving a health and safety risk. Tell us when you call.
How do I know which pest I have?
You do not need to. Describe what you have seen, heard or found — a noise, droppings, bites, an insect you photographed — and we will identify it. You can also email a photo before booking.
Are treatments safe around pets and children?
The products we use are approved by the New Zealand Environmental Protection Authority and applied to label directions in targeted placements, not sprayed across living areas. Rodent bait goes into tamper-resistant lockable stations. Tell us about pets, small children or fish tanks and we will plan around them — including using traps rather than bait. See our guide on pest control safety around pets and children.
Do I need to leave the house during treatment?
It depends on the treatment. External-only work needs no exclusion at all. Interior treatments typically need 2 to 4 hours until surfaces are dry. Gel baiting for cockroaches often needs no exclusion. We give you exact timings on the day — more detail in do you need to leave the house during pest control.
How should I prepare?
It varies by treatment and we tell you in advance. Flea jobs need thorough vacuuming and pet bedding washed hot. Cockroach gel baiting usually needs almost nothing. Fish tanks must be covered and pumps switched off for any interior spray work.
Will one treatment be enough?
For wasp nests and most ant jobs, usually yes. Rodent and cockroach work generally needs a follow-up — rodents to verify bait uptake and entry points, cockroaches because egg cases are shielded from insecticide and hatch afterwards. We tell you which applies before we start.
Why do I still see cockroaches after treatment?
With German cockroaches this is expected for up to three weeks. Egg cases are physically protected from insecticide, so nymphs keep hatching after treatment and then walk onto treated surfaces. Numbers should fall steadily. The follow-up visit deals with that generation.
What if the pests come back?
For single treatments we build in the follow-up the pest requires. On maintenance programmes, re-treatment between scheduled visits is included. If something we treated returns within the agreed period, we come back. If your property backs onto bush or a tidal margin, though, be aware that re-invasion pressure there is permanent — the honest answer is a sealed building and a maintained external line, not permanent eradication.
Do you treat honey bees?
No. Honey bees are protected pollinators and we will not destroy them. If you have a swarm we will identify it and point you to a local beekeeper, who will usually collect it free.
Can you treat a rental property?
Yes, and we provide a written treatment record for your file. Whether the landlord or the tenant pays depends on when the problem started and what caused it — our guide on who pays for pest control in a NZ rental works through it.
Do you service commercial premises and food businesses?
Yes. Commercial pest control is provided as a scheduled programme with mapped monitoring points, dated service reports and audit-ready documentation for food control plan verification.
What areas do you cover?
The wider Auckland region — central isthmus, North Shore to Albany, East Auckland through Flat Bush, South Auckland to Papakura, and West Auckland to Westgate. See all service areas.
Do you offer any guarantee?
We stand behind our work: where a pest requires a follow-up it is included, and we return if a treated problem recurs within the agreed period. We do not offer blanket lifetime guarantees, because on properties with constant external pressure those promises cannot be honestly kept. Your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 apply regardless.
