Accessibility Statement
Last updated
Pest Control Auckland wants this website to be usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or voice control. This statement sets out what we have done, where we know we fall short, and how to tell us if something does not work for you.
Standard we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. This is the standard referenced by the New Zealand Government Web Accessibility Standard.
What we have done
- Semantic structure. Pages use proper headings in order, landmark regions, lists and tables with header cells, so assistive technology can navigate them meaningfully.
- Keyboard access. All interactive elements — navigation, dropdowns, accordions, forms — can be operated by keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator on every focusable element.
- Skip link. A "Skip to content" link is the first item on every page so keyboard users can bypass the navigation.
- Colour contrast. Body text, headings and interface elements are chosen to meet or exceed the 4.5:1 contrast ratio required at Level AA.
- Text alternatives. Meaningful images carry descriptive alternative text; decorative images are marked so screen readers skip them.
- Labelled forms. Every form field has a visible, programmatically associated label, with autocomplete attributes so browsers can fill details in.
- Responsive and zoomable. Content reflows to 320 px width and supports 200% zoom without loss of content or functionality. We do not block pinch-zoom.
- Reduced motion. We respect the operating system "reduce motion" setting and disable transitions and smooth scrolling accordingly.
- Readable text. Real text rather than text in images, with generous line height and line lengths kept to a comfortable measure.
Known limitations
We would rather be honest about these than claim full conformance:
- Some photographs have brief alternative text that conveys the subject but not every detail.
- Third-party components we do not control — such as embedded call-tracking or analytics scripts — may not fully meet WCAG 2.2 AA.
- Some longer pages do not yet have an in-page table of contents, which would help orientation.
- PDFs or documents supplied on request may not be fully tagged for accessibility. Tell us and we will provide the content in an accessible format.

Getting our information another way
If any part of this website is not accessible to you, we will provide the same information by phone, email, large-print or plain-text document — at no charge and without you needing to explain why. Booking a treatment, receiving a quote and getting your treatment records can all be done entirely by phone.
Accessibility at your property
Accessibility is not only about the website. Tell us in advance if you need us to communicate in a particular way, if you need extra notice before a visit, if a technician should call rather than knock, or if you need aftercare instructions supplied in large print or read aloud. We will accommodate it.
